Application of Artificial Intelligence in Learning and Instruction in Higher Education

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is advancing at an unprecedented pace, significantly impacting all facets of modern civilisation. The education system requires a comprehensive curriculum; yet, the integration of AI into the Indian higher education system has not been adequately addressed. This article integrates AI with the advocacy of research on pedagogical reform to enhance the advantages of AI-based education and expedite its broader implementation. Conclusions are made regarding the degree of instructors' proficiency in utilising prevalent AI tools for educational purposes. The significance of AI and its applications and effects are addressed in the NEP 2020, specifically in para 4, 17, 20, and 23.
