Integrating Ancient Wisdom and Modern Pedagogy : Insights from the Faculty Development Programme

Abstract
This article provides the importance and outcome of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) organised and funded by the Inter University Centre for Teacher Education (IUCTE), BHU Varanasi. This initiative aimed to improve educators and faculty members from various disciplines by integrating modern pedagogical methods with the best practices of ancient Indian education systems. It was designed to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program's expert-led workshops address a wide range of topics, such as the structural evolution of India's higher education system, the effects of NEP 2020, the integration of technology into the academic process, the utilisation of ancient wisdom of the Indian knowledge in contemporary classrooms, and more. This article provides a concise overview of the program's key themes and explores their potential impact on faculty development and the future of higher education in India, and feedback will be adopted to improve such programs in the future.
